Mission Cholesterol Monitoring Test Strips are test devices for a complete lipid panel using whole blood, serum or plasma. It detects five parameters like Total cholesterol (CHOL), High density lipoprotein (HDL), Trigycerides (TRIG), calculated Low density lipoprotein (LDL), Cholesterol High density lipoprotein ratio (CHOLHDL) as well as cardiac risk assessment. It contains 5 test strips, 5 safety lancets, 5 capillary transfer tubes, 1 code chip and user manual. To perform a cholesterol or lipid test, you will need a Cholesterol monitoring device into which the test strips are simply inserted which comes into contact with a small drop of blood from your finger. After a few moments you get a precise test result for the laboratory. Total Cholesterol is the total amount of cholesterol in blood. HDL (Good) Cholesterol reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) by carrying LDL away from the blood stream for disposal. LDL (Bad) Cholesterol contributes to the buildup of plaque (a thick, hard deposit that can clog arteries) increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Triglycerides is the most common type of fat in the body.
